Have you heard anyone say you only need a Facebook group to run a thriving and profitable business?

Well whoever said that is full of it. I guarantee you they have systems in place to grow their business. Whether that is a checkout system to accept payments, an email autoresponder to follow up with their leads, or a lead page to actually generate these leads, they are NOT just using a Facebook group to run a real business.

Have you ever thought about that?

You’re told you don’t need a funnel, a blog, to run ads, to do SEO and to just focus on growing your group.

Well…. how are you going to do that?

Why would anybody want to join your group?

What are you offering them that thousands of others in your niche are not trying to do?

What credibility do you have to back you up and position you as the expert?

Are you relying on your Facebook profile to build your brand?

That’s a BIG mistake.

But let’s say that’s your strategy, how is that working for you?

Are you attracting the right people who are ready to do business with you?

How did they find you?

If you don’t run ads, you don’t have an email list, you don’t blog, you don’t have a funnel, where are these leads coming from that you expect to fill up your Facebook group?

Is your master plan to be on social media all day every day sending cold messages to strangers, posting in groups and hoping people will request to join your group?

Really?

That’s your path to living the life you’ve been dreaming about?

“OK, Angelo, since you know everything, what do you suggest I do instead?”

It’s simple: BUILD YOUR BRAND AND YOUR BUSINESS on your own platform. That’s what all the successful business owners are doing.

Don’t EVER rely on social media and 3rd party platforms.

You want to control the content you work hard to create.

You want to have a system in place that attracts the right people to you, does the selling for you and follows up for you.

No, Im not talking about hiring a robot to run your business.

I’m talking about having a system in place that automates the most time consuming things you need to have in place to run a successful business.

you need to have an email responder in place to collect the leads.

You should be creating content on your blog and then repurposing it on social media to drive traffic BACK TO YOUR WEBSITE. Back to YOUR home-base.

It’s a simple as that.

Your website is your command center. Everything lives here. This is the only place you have full control of what you post and who sees it.

Your website is what will bring you free organic traffic from search engines.

Your website will WOW your ideal buyers.

Your website will position you as the expert.

If someone is going to invest money in a coach, a course or whatever else you’re selling, they are going to want to know you are reliable and they are not just throwing their money away.

Your website gives you that credibility.

So next time you hear anyone say you just need a simple Facebook group, run the other way. It just means they don’t know what they are really talking about and they have nothing more to offer.

Or they fear losing you because you’ll move on to bigger and better things, which they are not able to control you with.

So they’ll tell you everything you want to hear just to keep you in their ecosystem.

Same goes for low quality 3rd party platforms that promise to deliver all the tools you need to build and market your business. They’re main objective is to keep you on their platform and keep paying anywhere from $297-$497 a month, going through their training, trying to figure everything out by yourself 🙁

I know its a pretty dark picture I’m painting, but it’s time to wake up.

I’ve been where you are, I’ve chased the bright shiny objects. I’ve listened to these “coaches” and what I realized is most people who listen to this advice will FAIL.

Yea there are exceptions and you might hear some success stories, but either their are hustling and grinding all day for that one success story, or they have implement better strategies to scale their business.

A Facebook group is not the way for most people.

Your account can be shutdown, the algorithm might change at anytime and your content disappears in the newsfeed and the worst part of it all of it is there’s so much going on on Facebook, that your chances of being seen are really slim.

BUT….

On the other hand…. when you have your own platform…. your own ecosystem…. your own blue ocean, there’s no competition. If you have that and are producing quality, valuable content, you will be rewarded many times over by people who are actually searching for EXACTLY what you offer.

People don’t go on Facebook to be sold and buy stuff.

But they will search Google for solutions to their problems.

Solutions that your product, service, or opportunity provide.

THAT’S how you do it. THAT’s how you stand out from the crowd and have a thriving business that allows you to live that freedom lifestyle you’ve always dreamed off.

After all, isn’t that the reason you started your business in the first place?
